Creativity is not enough – an architect’s journey between vision and reality

Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be an architect. I was fascinated by buildings, spaces, and their atmosphere. Although I was never particularly skilled at drawing, my desire to create environments where people live, work, and spend their time kept driving me forward.
I studied architecture in Brno and eagerly embarked on my own practice. I imagined myself designing innovative projects, bringing fresh ideas, and transforming the spaces around me. However, I quickly realized that reality is far more complex. Architecture is not just about creativity and aesthetics; it also involves endless paperwork, negotiations with authorities, and overcoming obstacles that often have nothing to do with design. The system in which architects operate can be harsh and not always welcoming to new ideas.
After six years of freelancing, I welcomed the opportunity to join a company that is not afraid to explore new paths and gives architects the space to realize their visions. I now work on projects that have real meaning and can focus on what I enjoy most—designing spaces that are not only functional but also have soul.
When I’m not immersed in plans and drawings, I head out on my bike. Cycling is more than just a hobby for me; it’s a way to clear my mind, recharge my energy, and find inspiration in the world around me. Just like in architecture, the journey is just as important as the destination.
