I work as a designer and engineer, designing exhibition stands. Much to my satisfaction, it is a varied and creative job, and on top of that, one that can be done by an introvert like me. I got into computer design in the early 1990s, working for a couple of companies, and I even had a little dabble at being an entrepreneur before finally landing at Exponex. Along the way I have come to know various design techniques and software packages, although I now draw in Archicad, occasionally helping myself out with Corel or Autocad. Computers and software have evolved tremendously over the course of my career, now making my work much easier. But perhaps I can appreciate every good design or construction solution all the more.
I am happy to say I still find some time for sports after work. Ten years ago I discovered the charms of mountain hiking, but I still prefer cycling, albeit no longer as a racer in recent years. Yet maybe I will find the motivation to put myself through the ordeal of a cycling marathon again some day.
